Job description
Delta Star, Inc., a leading manufacturer of power transformers and mobile transformers & substations has an immediate opening for a Painter.
Full time, Hourly Position
Responsibilities:
Candidate must be able to:
- Use air assisted paint system.
- Operate high pressure water cleaning equipment to clean grease and other materials off of transformers.
- Prep parts and materials prior to painting to include: sanding, chipping, tapping and priming of tanks.
- Apply tar paint and anti-skid covers.
- Read prints to review paint specifications for component parts.
- Complete all necessary DIRs and paperwork under the supervision of higher level painters.
Requirements:
- At least one (2) years of experience in the field or related area; preferred.
- Willing and able to work overtime as required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Ability to follow all safety practices.
- Ability to maintain high standards of Quality & Production.
- Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights above 4 feet.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 60 lbs. with no assistance.
- Ability to work in all types of environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, oil and vapor.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Must have a positive attitude and foster a continuous improvement environment.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must have excellent attendance.
