Job Summary
Provides Subject Matter expertise supporting the NIWC SATCOM Lab, including CBSP and SHF with PITCO, SOVT, troubleshooting, installation, and training.
Telework is at 20%. Travel is required.Responsibilities and Duties
Conducts System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT) and C4I Operational Verification Check Out for DSCS/SHF (AN/WSC-6(V)9), Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) both shipboard and ashore, (AN/WSC-8(V)1&2), KIV-7M COMSEC Serial Crypto, EBEM MD-1366A and SLM-5650B Modems, Unit Level Variant (ULV) AN/USC-69(V)3, Small Ship Variant (SSV) AN/USC-69(V)1 and Force Level Variant (FLV) AN/USC-69(V)2 aboard U.S. Navy ships. Assists in maintaining equipment reliability by conducting on-site equipment grooms aboard Navy ships, MSC Ships, and shore facilities worldwide, including on-the-job (OJT) training of assigned military and government civilian personnel. Performs testing in support of Navy CASREPS and completes Field Changes and Engineering Changes on various SATCOM equipment.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Must have at least ten (10) years of with DoD/Naval Communications. Must be familiar with Navy Ships and Shipyard environments. Must know SHF, CBSP systems support or similar systems, keymat and architecture; SHF, CBSP, KIV-7M systems PITCO, installation, SOVT, troubleshooting, and training. Use of laboratory equipment needed for SHF, CBSP, KIV-7M testing (multimeter, spectrum analyzer, etc.). Conducts Navy shipboard, Navy Shore, TELEPORT, and CBSP and PITCOs. MILSTAR satellite operations, RADHAZ requirements or similar systems. ISEA support, Regional Maintenance and Modernization Coordination Office (RMMCO) procedures, Planning Yard coordination.

High School Diploma
Certifications
Prior Military Experience (Navy) as an Electronics Technician.
