WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Keep production flowing smoothly with the needed materials.
- Monitor and optimize material inventory levels as strategic design of the supply chain.
- Create, maintain, and release requirements and supplies using customer demands and trends ensuring an adequate level of products and manufacturing materials are maintained.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and assure Automotive Standard Services are maintained.
- Participate in engineering change teams.
- Monitor and assure continued improvement processes in services and deliveries.
- Plan, schedule, and expedite materials from vendors.
- Follow up on materials in transit assuring they meet compliance and defined transit times.
- Update the ERP system as required (New Material, eng. level, releases, standard pack quantity, etc.)
- Grow with us in various industries and help build business by following your desired career path and passion.
- Support our great team by taking on internal work and coaching others.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in material planning.
- You have worked in the Automotive industry for at least 3 years.
- You are experienced in problem solving techniques (8D, 7 steps, 5 whys, etc.).
- You have Material Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge and experience (SAP, LN, MFG QAD, etc.).
- You understand Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing environment and understand Kanban techniques.
- You understand trade and compliance process for international logistics.
- You have APICS certification or training.
- You are an analytical thinker with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well spoken with great negotiation skills.
- You are detail oriented, structured and have common sense.
- Your English skills are solid, German is a plus.
- You are willing to travel.
- You are legally authorized to work in the U.S.
