Job Description: As a School Psychologist in Rockford, IL you will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being and academic success of our students. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional development.
  2. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) for students with special needs.
  3. Providing counseling and support services to students facing emotional and behavioral challenges.
  4. Assisting in crisis intervention and offering guidance during difficult situations.
  5. Participating in multidisciplinary teams to address student needs and contribute to the development of intervention strategies.
  6. Promoting a positive school climate and fostering a sense of belonging for all students.

Requirements: To be considered for this position, you should meet the following qualifications:

  1. Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  2. Valid state licensure/certification as a School Psychologist in Illinois.
  3. Excellent understanding of psychological assessment tools and methods.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  5. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following attributes are highly valued:

  1. Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting.
  2. Familiarity with the laws and regulations related to special education in Illinois.
  3. Knowledge of evidence-based intervention strategies to address behavioral and emotional issues.
