We have partnered with a large environmental consulting firm in the Akron, OH area to provide with a Landscape Architect. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Landscape Architect:
#1. Must have at least 10+ years in professional consulting field.
#2. Must be a professional Landscape architect.
#3. Must be proficient in AutoCAD and or Sketchup, MS Office, Adobe creative Suite
#4. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10 years
Responsibilities of the Landscape Architect:
Primary responsibility will be to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams executing all components of the projects, including preliminary planning and conceptual design, technical design development, design oversight, preparation of construction documents/technical specifications, and client interaction.
- Train, lead and mentor planning, design, engineering, technical and construction associates.
- Present as subject matter expert for specialized area.
- Provide oversight related to the scope, schedule, and budget for assessment, planning, design and capital improvement projects.
- Perform and administer complex planning, design and engineering work requiring an exceptional level of professional training and experience.
- Perform long-term budget and capacity planning.
- Develop, implement and maintain planning, design and engineering standards, including standard specifications and drawings.
- Identify project risks and monitor/mitigate risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate and regularly communicate with Director/Project Manager and other project staff on status of work, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with prospective and existing clients; participate in client events, tradeshows and industry associations; prepare technical white papers for industry associations; participate in public meetings and deliver presentations as requested.
Requirements of the Landscape Architect:
- BLA, BSLA, or MLA degree from an accredited university
- 10+ years in professional consulting field.
- Licensed Professional Landscape Architect (PLA), LEED accreditation a bonus.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Passion for art, design and composition.
- Exceptional level of design expertise and proficiency in developing design content in the areas of healthcare, corporate campus, higher education, k-12 Education, Parks, Green Infrastructure, and public realm projects, including all phases of design and construction.
- Excellent understanding of grading and drainage design and ability to develop complex grading plans for site development projects.
- Exceptional presentation skills. Public speaking and storytelling experience a plus.
- Desire to work in collaborative teams and previous experience leading interdisciplinary design and planning efforts.
- Knowledge of plant materials, terminology and planting design.
- Excellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills.
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills in a team-oriented environment.
- An excellent design portfolio.
Other Key Requirements:
- 100% onsite, in-office role.
- No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
