Due to the growth, Paragon Staffing, LLC is looking for a qualified TIG welder to join our team! We take the stress and trouble away from finding each individual the right employment opportunity!
TIG welders are responsible for the fabrication and welding of aerospace tubular, sheet metal and casting engine components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set-up and layout jobs using blueprints, diagrams and fixtures following welding procedures to TIG weld in all positions including the use of rotary turntables for manual welding. (Required)
- Inspects, maintains and logs preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating.
- Sets up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW (TIG weld) material to meet fabrication drawing requirements.
- Drawing review and compliance for final dimensions, weld note callouts, base material and filler material selection.
- Solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing and polishing to prepare weld joints for welding
- Tack welding, fabrication of shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding
- Videoscope inspection for root side weld defects. Visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and final weld fixtures.
- Weld inspection for weld size, face and root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions and porosity.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to accurately measure, square, cut ,drill, weld, grind.
- Ability to position and secure projects using hoists, cranes etc.
- Weld metal components.
- Remove rough spots.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Completion of technical training or apprenticeship (Required)
- Extensive Knowledge in TIG welding (required)
- Welding certification (required)
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation.
- 3-5 years of experience as a TIG Welder. (Reguired)
Pay rate: $30-$35 based on experience
Schedule: 1st Shift
