Job description
Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Network Administrator to support a major GSA program. The missions overall focus is to provide value to our customers through providing the right services at the right time.
- Responds to all break/fix requests associated with network resources.
- Assists with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure.
- Work with configuring and maintaining Cisco network hardware, including switches and firewalls.
- Support any CAT 5/6 and fiber cabling, as well as installing new network drops when needed.
- Monitors network resources for faults and traffic anomalies.
- Resolves connection issues between users and resources.
- Maintains detailed change history of network changes.
- Supports ITS Field Maintenance with communications' implementation and troubleshooting.
- Supports team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in Networked Systems Administration, Operations and Maintenance, and Engineering support.
- Certifications in COMPTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA), etc.
- Configured and managed products from major networking equipment and firewall vendors
- Expertise in the maintenance of networking Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices and policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco network hardware, including switches and firewalls.
- Proficiency in running CAT 5/6 and fiber cabling, as well as installing new network drops when needed.
- Experience with Zscaler
- Understand core concepts of SASE, SSE, Zero-Trust, ICAM, PAM and other modernized security solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and support changes to network including cable infrastructure, network monitoring software, firmware, and hardware.
- Evaluation and testing of network equipment
