The Position: We are looking for a Lead Adjunct Specialist, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. The Lead Adjunct Specialist in a mental health department is responsible for overseeing and supporting adjunct staff (Peer Specialist, Mental Health Rehab Specialist and TAY Specialist) in providing quality mental health services, ensuring adherence to protocols, offering guidance in complex cases, and facilitating professional development to maintain high standards of care.
Compensation and Benefits:
The pay range we’re offering is $66,560-$72,000 annually depending (Based) on experience.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment or vocational adjustment. or
- Up to 2 years of graduate professional education may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year to year basis or
- Up to 2 years of post associate arts clinical experience may be substituted for the required educational experience in addition to the requirement of four years’ experience in a mental health setting (source: Title 9, Division 1, Section 630).

- Must have the ability to commute to various sites including off-campus and have the ability to physically restrain children if needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical and administrative supervision to the adjunct services team in Riverside County
- Conduct interviews and train new adjunct providers
- Ensure compliance with both clinical and administrative requirements
- Assist supervisees in delivering mental health services within their scope of practice.
- In consultation with the treatment team and clinical supervisor, use independent judgment and discretion in identifying mental health needs, creating appropriate intervention strategies, and self-initiating treatment interventions
- Review frequency of case consultations amongst treatment providers to ensure continuity of care
- Review adjunct referrals, assign cases and ensure service delivery expectations are met amongst supervisees
- Support with a small caseload of clients, as needed.
- Ensure team members Peer and Tay Specialists obtain required certification or renewal.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the McKinley treatment model
- Ensure supervisees adhere to mental health requirements regarding activities, structure, and documentation.
- Work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team to plan and implement mental health services
- Provide guidance and support to team members on identifying and addressing at-risk behaviors.
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with all employees, children, families, and other individuals.
- Attend all required orientation classes, training sessions, and meetings as assigned.
- Support supervisees in ensuring all necessary documentation, including daily notes, is completed carefully and professionally, adhering to the guidelines established by federal and state laws and regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
- Supervise the service delivery of assigned support staff.
- Monitor and train assigned support staff in meeting county and agency documentation requirements.
- Participate in the agency’s Quality Improvement plan as assigned.
- Other related duties as assigned.
