Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
· Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools
and equipment for the task.
· Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
· Report any problems to your manager.
· Perform a wide range of general carpenter duties on a heavy highway crew and bridge work.
· Assemble and fastens materials, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue to make framework props.
· Measures and marks cutting lines on material, using ruler, pencil and marking gauge.
· Prepares layout according to blueprint or oral instructions, using rule, framing square and calipers.
· Removes damaged or defective parts or sections of structure and repairs or replaces, using hand tools.
· Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saw.

Education/Experience
· Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
· Previous related experience in construction field is preferred.
Work Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
· Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
· Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical.
· Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
· Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
· Report to work at the designated start time.
· Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
· Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
· Be able to work overtime when required.
· Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
· Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
· Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
· Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA.
· Must have a recent TWIC card
· 1 year or more experience as a carpenter
· Tools needed: Hammer, 25 ft tape, 100 ft tape, speed square, plumbob, a pair of tie wire plyers, tool box, tool belt, and pencil
· Lays out work from plans or sketch.
· Sets and sizes concrete forms for bridge, drainage structure, walls, etc.
· Builds in place to line and grade, or prefabricates in units to be erected later.
· Responsible for tying steel rebar.
· Performs other concrete related duties, such as: hammering, nailing, cutting, measuring, bolting and handling of building material.

Physical Requirements

· Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, talk and hear.
· Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
· The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands.
· The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment.
· The noise level in some areas of work environment may be high.
