This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Established in 1978 at the UC San Diego Medical Center, the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) combines the benefits of an internationally renowned university with a large academic hospital. The UC San Diego Medical Center and the DEM is leading an effort, funded by the Federal Office of the National Coordinator, to foster data exchange, interoperability, and clinical integration to improve healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes among San Diego County community healthcare providers.

Under general supervision, the Project Manager independently leads and directs multiple projects and/or programs of medium to large size and complexity. Plans, manages and evaluates cross-functional/cross-organizational systems, develop/implement projects with high risk/impact financial, operational or legal implications. Anticipates project or program risks and plans with appropriate action to avoid or mitigate risks to project schedules, budget, deliverables, quality and staffing. Provides leadership and decision-making ability where competing interests and priorities involve the highest levels of management.

The incumbent applies advanced project management frameworks and methods and campus, medical center or office of the president objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Determines methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results. Manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and / or project team size, with considerable impact to the organization. Projects may be passed off to the owners to implement and maintain. Requires level of expertise in project management such as project management certificate and / or quality improvement processes like six sigma or lean or equivalent project management experience. Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Full Pay Range: $91,300 - $170,700 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.73 - $81.75

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
