Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is hiring a full time MD/DO Hospitalist
- Full time position is 180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month avg.
- All MD's share shifts equally - rounding, swing and overnight - 24/7 onsite coverage
All of the full time providers share in covering all shifts (rounding, admitting, and nights). Full time providers cover on average 1-2 nights per month, approx 2-3 admitter shifts, and remaining are rounding shifts. This is based on 15 shifts/mo.
- Rounding shift shared by 5 MD's - typically 90-100 patients per shift
- 12 hour shifts - Swing is 10a-10p M-F and 9a-9p weekends
- Night shift is 8p-8a - typically 1x per month
- This is a flexible schedule - NOT 7 on/7off - schedule is worked out by all providers 60-90 days in advance and holidays are scheduled beginning of the year
- Closed ICU
- No Procedures
- Family Medicine Residents run codes, fall assessments and overnight pronouncements
- EMR is EPIC
- Hospitalist team includes MD's and APC's working together
- Open to a new Grad MD/DO - but preference will be given to provider with 2 to 3 years of hospital work experience
