ACTUARIAL MANAGER

IMT Insurance is hiring for the position of Actuarial Manager to join our Research & Development Department. This individual will oversee the development of monthly reserving estimates and assist with other corporate actuarial functions to support the company’s growth and profitability goals. A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Oversee the development of monthly reserving estimates
• Provide actuarial support for the reinsurance renewal process
• Oversee the premium and loss forecasting processes
• Communicate reserving and other financial projections to accounting and senior leadership
• Assist senior staff with miscellaneous corporate actuarial projects, including ERM and capital modeling
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure compliance with Actuarial Standards of Practice
• Lead a team of technical and professional staff
• Coordinate departmental activities and projects

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/BA degree preferably in a quantitatively oriented field of study
• Previous staff management / supervisory experience preferred
• 5 or more years of insurance related experience in an actuarial role (preferable 7 or more)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat
• SQL/SAS/Access or other programming knowledge
• 5 or more Casualty Actuarial Society Exams (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society preferred)
• Actively listens with strong oral and written communication skills
• Understands how to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully
• Ability to pay close attention to details and concentrate up to fifty percent of work activities
• Maintains technical expertise on current actuarial trends and techniques used in pricing of insurance products
• Intermediate knowledge of personal and commercial lines coverages
• Advanced knowledge of personal lines rating structures and intermediate principles of pricing commercial products
• Develop or maintain a working knowledge of company policy and loss administration systems and underlying data sources
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to negotiate on product and systems development issues
• Must possess the ability to work well with others.

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $166,000.00

Starting salary and level of position will depend on level of experience
