Job Summary
We seek to hire an Engineering Technician. Will serve as a technician to inspect and test equipment, analyze plans for construction and design, write up daily lab reports, and carry out any other necessary tasks delegated by the supervising engineer. Build or set up equipment, conduct experiments, and collect data and calculate results to solve technical problems.
Job Description
- Assemble large and small piping loops using hand and pneumatic tools
- Perform tests as directed
- Lift, move and assemble pipes, pumps, valves, nuts, bolts and equipment within allowable company weight allowances
- Verify product to be tested meets Test Request specifications
- Ensure test measuring devices are within calibration period and in good working order prior to performing a test
- Select proper equipment to build test setups to perform required tests
- Modify product components for performance enhancements and/or cost reductions as required
- Operate machine tools such as a lathe, drill press and mill
Skills Required
- Must have a background in engineering, the ability to work well on a team, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Some technicians work in quality control, where they check products, do tests, and collect data .
- In manufacturing, they help to design and develop products.
- 3-5 years experience required
Education/Training/Certifications
- Must have degree, preference for mechanical or electrical field but will accept at least 3 - 5 years' work-related experience in manufacturing industry, automotive, HVAC, plumbing or electro-mechanical.
- Must have mechanical skills, computer skills, and electrical skills.
Additional Requirements
- Possibility to transition into a full time position based on performance and behavior
- Company will provide PPE (safety glasses, EH rated safety shoes, gloves)
Pay Rate/Salary
- $38 per hour
