Our client in the building and construction industry is immediately seeking a
Senior Accountant to join their team in Nashville, TN. The
Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records and reports.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:- Compile, analyze and summarize financial data and trends to prepare reports
- Enter financial transactions accurately into the system and maintain proper documentation
- Audit documents to ensure the accuracy and validity of financial transactions
- Coordinate activities and provide support to accounting staff while addressing their queries
- Uphold financial security measures and promote an ethical work environment by adhering to internal controls
- Verify documentation and process payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Maintain meticulous records of vendor information, including payment terms and joint checks
- Reconcile ERP with Project Management software to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Manage monthly bank statement reconciliation and oversee cash management activities
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments through continuous learning and professional networking
- Review financial reports prepared by accountants to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
- Assist with year-end reporting, including annual filings, audits and tax returns
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
Senior Accountant Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Preferred CPA certification, although not mandatory
- Experience with Sage/Procore software is advantageous
- 3-5 years of accounting or construction finance experience
