M&M Printed Bag has an immediate opening for a Press Helper. If you have a sense of urgency and a desire for a distinguised career, join our team! We have both day and night shifts available.

The Press Helper assists the Press Operator with the required steps of setting up the printing press for each job order.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Make s sure there is enough raw material for the job prior to beginning the project
• Check s all master rolls for damage or crushed cores
• Assure s understanding of the correct side of material that will be printed
• Place s raw material rolls on the press
• S ets up for ink pans and pumps
• Check s viscosity and pH
• While running a job, monitor s and documents ink issues and viscosity
• Remove s and washes plates, rollers, and ink pans
• Remove s cylinders, removes unused material from unwind and returns to inventory
• Prepare s for next job
• Learn s the basics of press operation
• Assist s the press operator as needed, standing in for their lunch and breaks
• Clean s and maintains the press
• Works well in a team environment
• Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Works scheduled hours with predictable and reliable attendance
• Performs various special projects and other duties as assigne d

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic math skills including the ability to read and use a tape measure
• Must be able to stoop, kneel and climb a ladder and stairs
• Must communicate in both verbal and written matters as well as read, write, and understand English

Preferred

• Flexographic printing experience
• Flexible packaging experience

Work is performed within a process manufacturing environment. The employee mu st be able to lift up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling. The noise level is moderate to high, and PPE is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and extreme heat; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Must be available 24 hours a day for plant or equipment emergencies.
