As we continue to expand our global team, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Acoustics Engineer to join us in our journey.
Role Overview:
Do you have a passion for designing and building world-class audio products? Are you an experienced, hands-on designer who loves working across architecture, design, proto building, testing, and performance optimization? As a key member of the Acoustic Engineering Team, you will work closely with our Product Management leads to explore new product concepts, refine our product roadmap, and expand our product portfolio. We are looking for an experienced Acoustics Engineer who is creative, driven, and passionate about making great-sounding, easy-to-install, and dependable pro audio products. Key Responsibilities:
· Work closely with key stakeholders across R&D, product management, sales, operations, and executive leadership to identify and define compelling new Bose Pro audio products.
· Be a champion within the company for acoustic quality and excellence, rigorous design & testing methodologies, engineering pragmatism, and rapid development of loudspeaker systems.
· Lead or co-lead speaker system design activities leveraging CAD and acoustic simulation tools; investigate design tradeoffs (e.g., performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability, etc.) and make product design proposals to senior leadership.
· Collaborate with other engineers to build acoustic prototypes and perform performance tests and measurements.
· Operate lab equipment such as data acquisition systems, spectrum analyzers, scopes, meters, environmental chambers, and thermal measurement systems.
· Drive the analysis and review of test & simulation data during the iterative development process.
Qualifications:
· BS in Acoustics Engineering or related field (e.g., physics, mechanical engineering); MS preferred
· 10+ years of hands-on acoustic product development experience with loudspeakers, amplifiers, and professional audio equipment; transducer design experience is a big plus
· Familiarity with programming languages/environments such as Matlab, Python, or Visual Basic; ability to read and modify scripts
· Highly desired: Experience with FMEA tools and physics-based modeling tools such as COMSOL
