University Relations & Marketing is seeking an Executive Communications Senior Advisor. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.

Reporting to the Vice President of University Relations & Marketing with a dotted line to the Administrative Director for the Office of the President and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees; the Senior Advisor on Executive Communications develops and implements a comprehensive executive communications plan to promote the vision of the university and proactively position the president and members of her leadership team as persuasive thought leaders on the themes of inclusive excellence, solutions-oriented research with global impact, equitable student access and the value of higher education, and statewide economic and workforce development.

Facilitating a small planning team that regularly and strategically scans for internal and external speaking engagements, op-ed opportunities, earned media, social media engagements and events, the Executive Communications Senior Advisor develops compelling content drawing on the strengths of 11 academic colleges as well as unique centers and institutes, such as the future Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang Collaborative Innovation Complex, the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx), the Linus Pauling Institute, PacWave and the world-renowned Hatfield Marine Science Center, OSU -Cascades, and our location in the ecologically and socioeconomically diverse Pacific Northwest. By sharing best practices and opportunities for highly visible placements, the Senior Advisor on Executive Communications empowers leaders at OSU to share their individual perspectives and expertise authentically while contributing to a cohesive and compelling OSU story that enhances the visibility and national reputation of the university's mission and areas of distinction.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires Master's degree in field related to work assigned. Experience developing and engaging in strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. 

Type:

Due to the nature of the position, occasional evening and or weekend work may be required. This position is eligible for a Hybrid working arrangement, conditions to be approved by the supervisor.

Additional Salary Information: $86,688-$151,764
