Sales Leader for a Revolutionary Technology in the Spirits Industry

Job description

Our client has developed an innovative technology that will impact the wine and spirits industry in a revolutionary way and has already gained sales traction among mid and large manufacturers. They are seeking a Sales Leader to help carry out their ultimate goal of impacting the biggest alcohol companies in the world. The Sales Leader will work closely with the executive team to develop the best go-to-market strategy and also drive the sales team as they prepare to take this company to scale.

Responsibilities :
- Create the overall sales strategy, a series of steps for future sales teams to follow that will be successful across the board
- Help develop long-term sales goals, objectives, and top priorities
- Identify the gatekeepers at top companies and create relationships to get this technology in front of decision-makers
- Specifically, create and manage relationships with prospective clients among the top 20-30 spirits and wine makers in the U.S.
- Serve as one of the most senior external faces of the company
- Have full responsibility for all stages of the sales cycle
- Assist with creating and updating sales and marketing materials, from one-pagers to presentation tools to case studies
- Provide weekly reporting on pipeline development, including forecasting and suggestions for areas of potential growth
- Assist in development of the sales team as the business grows; eventual responsibility for leadership of (future) sales representatives

Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred
- 10-15+ years in sales, particularly in selling into the C-suite and/or related levels in the top companies in the spirits and/or wine sectors.
- Demonstrated track record of opening senior relationships and driving deals leading to substantial revenue growth
- Deep relationships within the spirits industry, required, and wine sector, secondarily
- Experience in developing and leading sales teams in a growing company (or a strong desire to apply proven management techniques in order to do so)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with an entrepreneurial spirit (prior startup experience preferred)
- Teamwork mentality, with the ability to self-manage as needed
- Ability to learn quickly with the desire to adjust and grow as the company expands
