Job description
The Communications, Learning, and Development team of a well known entertainment brand is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist with a strong passion for technology and its potential to enhance the employee experience. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, writing proficiency, creativity, and marketing skills to distill complex technical information into clear, concise, and impactful messaging for our workforce. This is a full time hours hybrid / onsite opportunity in Burbank, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consultative support to the Enterprise Technology team for internal communications regarding new programs, services, tools, or policy changes, ensuring widespread dissemination across the company.
- Develop comprehensive communication plans for both technical and non-technical audiences, from inception to implementation.
- Define, capture, and analyze KPIs and metrics, focusing on historical trends and themes.
- Facilitate complex stakeholder management to achieve project objectives effectively.
- Execute multiple communication strategies, considering timing, collisions, and message coherence.
- Stay abreast of technology and employee events across the organization, communicating relevant updates to our Enterprise Tech community.
- Proactively source technology stories across the company for amplification through various channels.
- Support internal team events as required and manage editorial calendars, prioritizing communication requests.
- Project manage communication campaigns and oversee the production, approval, and distribution of communication materials.
- Utilize Wordpress, HTML, and CSS knowledge to create email templates and post content on the intranet.
- Demonstrate intermediate design skills to manipulate templates, images, and produce original creative for communication materials.
- Contribute to the ideation, editorial, and technical creation of organization-specific newsletters.
- Translate complex technical communications into a user-friendly voice for employees.
- Collaborate closely with communications, video, graphics, and events teams to develop compelling content.
- Edit and distribute senior-level executive communications on their behalf and create content for multiple digital platforms.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a communications-based role with a focus on writing and content creation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in web technologies including HTML, SMS, WordPress, etc., and design skills for graphics and presentations.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, distribution list management, and familiarity with metrics-reporting software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge norms.
- High level of accountability and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Innate curiosity and passion for new technologies.
- Experience in organizational and change management.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Smartsheet, data visualization, basic video editing, simple animation building, and social media marketing.
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
