Chamisal Vineyards is comprised of 60 vineyard acres, located in San Luis Obispo’s Edna Valley. Our vines were originally planted in 1973 making it the first vineyard in the Edna Valley appellation. Our focus is on crafting Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Grenache from our unique estate vineyard here on the Central Coast. We are dedicated to sustainable and organic practices, and we are SIP certified, both in the vineyard and the winey.

Chamisal Vineyards is currently seeking to hire seasonal positions at our San Luis Obispo Estate winery. Qualified candidates for this position will display aptitude and the ability to perform cellar tasks with precision and focus. A basic knowledge of winemaking and previous cellar experience is recommended.

We are a small team that takes pride in making great wines and upholding high standards in our winemaking and vineyard practices. We seek intelligent candidates that are ready to be challenged. Our continued focus at Chamisal is to be leaders in our appellation and in our community. Our Harvest Internships rely on team efforts and camaraderie, effective communication and a willingness to learn. Enthusiastic candidates who are passionate about learning wine production and cellar operations will gain valuable experience. Candidates will need to be committed for the harvest season and have an open schedule for work from mid-August until November.

There will be an opportunity to learn all aspects of winemaking and to further refine skills and understanding for quality wine production.
Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

-Sanitization of tanks and equipment
-Carrying out wine movements and pump operations
-Racking from barrels
-Filtrations (DE & cross flow)
-Forklift driving
-Scissor lift operation
-Topping, sampling
-Pre-harvest preparations
-White, rose, and red grape processing, including the operation of presses, de-stemmers,
and hopper/sorters.
-Bottling preparations and bottling day tasks
-Opportunities to better understand and evaluate wines with sensory analysis and trainings.

Qualifications:
-Must be able to lift 50lbs
-Ability to read and speak English
-Ability to work long hours and various shifts
-Must have a valid CA driver’s license

The projected pay range for this position is $18 to $20 per hour. This is the projected compensation for the position however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group reserves the right to modify the pay range/rate at any time in the future.
