- Initial contract review and revision in collaboration with insurance broker legal team, in-house lawyers, with support from outside law firms when necessary;
- Management and coordination with insurance broker and carriers on legal claims, assignment to insurance companies, and ongoing review, monitoring and organization of company legal issues;
- Management and coordination with insurance companies and outside legal counsel regarding legal claims and litigation, by obtaining and organizing relevant information required for initial insurance company review and litigation. Assisting directly with investigation of claim issues, developing inside summaries, developing and organizing data and documentation, and drafting initial answers to discover requests.
- Working directly with a sophisticated, collaborative insurance broker and other company Team Members to organize the portfolio insurance and risk management programs, coordinate insurance renewals, and to develop the best insurance and risk management system possible.
- Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources.
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence as necessary.
- Ensure consistent use of best practice terms and conditions and use of standardized legal forms when appropriate.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all corporate and personnel matters.
- Ensure Certificate of Insurance is maintained in compliance with contracts as required.
- Maintain historical files for contract negotiations.

- Perform other related duties as required.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 4 years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with insurance litigation and contract review experience preferred.
- Degree in Paralegal Studies or paralegal certificate a plus.
- Active notary public commission, or willingness to obtain same.
Hours:
- Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements of the Position:
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Work involves sitting most of the time.
Work Conditions:
- Inside work environment. Not substantially exposed to adverse conditions.
