Job description

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking an experienced Painter/Carpenter to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, renovating, and enhancing our campus facilities. Your work will include painting, carpentry, and small project planning. You will lead a small group of assistants during the summer, providing guidance and ensuring the timely completion of projects.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Maintain an inventory of painting supplies and materials
- Select appropriate paints and materials for various projects
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding and filling
- Apply paint materials using various techniques
- Perform wall repairs and finishing work
- Identify and manage lead-based paints and potential asbestos-containing materials
- Ensure tools are well-maintained and safe for use
- Coordinate work orders and meet deadlines
- Perform structural repairs on building surfaces
- Provide lead work direction to assistants
- Participate in safety programs and adhere to safety regulations

**Qualifications:**
- Five years of relevant experience or advanced technical training
- Extensive knowledge of painting and carpentry materials and techniques
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Oregon driver's license
