Job description
As leaders in project excellence, LATA has over four decades of proven success in global and domestic markets as a small business specializing in federal government contracting. The Project Accountant is responsible for producing timely & accurate project invoices, project reporting, project cost management, and ad hoc project reporting as assigned. This includes complete, timely, and accurate reporting of project cost to senior management and program managers. The candidate will work under direct supervision of the Controller. This position will require a strong commitment to mastering the responsibilities and tasks listed below. Good communication skills are required due to several office locations in the US.
• Ensures timely and accurate billings, resolves invoicing questions, and provides project reporting in a fast-paced environment.
• Issue project cost reports to customers, program managers, and senior management.
• Issue billings resulting from new provisional or final rate approval.
• Works with project managers to solve billing problems and track costs.
• Assists Controller on the set-up of project billing information and revenue formulas for new contracts and tasks.
• Complete closeout billings in a timely manner.
• Submission of completed invoices into customer portals.
• Reconciliation of unbilled.
• Set up of new billings and adding employees to new projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
• BS Accounting or an Associates degree with 2 years experience or six years’ experience in accounting or business-related field.
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks, including assignment of proper prioritization, exercise initiative and work under pressure.
• Determine operational trends that are impacting cost and revenue budget analysis.
• Intermediate-level computer skills.
