Job description
SUMMARY: Red Star Contract Manufacturing is a vertically integrated facility located in Larwill, Indiana. With expanded capabilities in injection molding, prototyping, and sterile packaging; we offer convenience and quality product to the customers we serve. Red Star is hiring a Quality Inspector to support 2nd Shift operations. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing the required inspection operations based on the job traveler and quality criteria throughout the manufacturing process, including receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ( includes the following but other duties may be assigned)- Perform and document all inspections, based on the Quality Inspection plans
- Inspect to the AQL / C=0 sampling plan provided
- Perform 1st article layouts, when required
- Assist in calibration, when needed
- Perform gage R&R tasks, when required
- Assist in problem solving
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school degree, or equivalent, required
- Basic computer skills
- Good organization skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using gauging, such as mics, calipers, comparators, and height and thread gauges
- 3-5 years' inspection experience, preferred
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Experience with inspection of medical devices
- Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI-ASQ)
- Proficient with GD&T and blueprint reading
