Job description
GiaCare is now accepting resumes for a civilian Dietitian in anticipation for a future position at Little Rock AFB (Arkansas).
Job Qualifications: Degree/Education: Bachelor’s degree. Graduate from an accredited college or university and completion of didactic program in dietetics approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of American Dietetic Association (ADA).
Successful completion of one of the following CADE-approved supervised practice programs:
- Dietetic internship with generalist of military emphasis.
- Coordinated program in dietetics with generalist emphasis.
Registration : Current registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the ADA or proof of eligibility to take the ADA registration examination.
Experience: - One year of specialized experience in diet therapy after graduation.
- Possesses three (3) years of experience in wellness, sports nutrition or nutrition education.
- Should be a role model in weight, fitness, and other healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Certification: Basic Life Support. Board eligible Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics by the ADA
Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a Dietitian
Job Duties: - Conduct nutrition assessment/evaluation which includes nutrient intake, activity level, appetite, intake of vitamins, minerals, nutritional supplements, and other complimentary alternative medicine usage, weight history, taste changes, feeding problems, food intolerance, food-drug interactions, unhealthy diet behaviors, socioeconomic and ethnic background, documented medical history, current diagnoses and medical treatment modalities, current drug therapy, and clinical signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies.
- Apply the basic principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
- Apply principles and practices of clinical dietetics and medical nutrition therapy in order to plan, develop, and independently coordinate medical nutrition therapy intervention, interdisciplinary care plans, and nutrition education activities.
