Description

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for identifying, developing, and growing sales opportunities from new and existing customers through phone, email, and face-to-face communication. This position reports to the Department Leader or Sales Director, for the Midwest Region.

Duties & Responsibilities:

o Utilizing planned objectives, make contact with assigned accounts on a quarterly basis, at a minimum.

o Expand product offering within all accounts by understanding their needs.

o Conduct site evaluations to identify opportunities, make recommendations, provide proposals, and win the business.

o Build relationships with customer's purchasing, maintenance, and tool crib departments, and other decision makers and influencers.

o Follow up on market or customer specific internet leads.

o Identify market opportunities and develop a contact strategy for new business and existing growth of assigned accounts.

o Provide quote follow-up and use sales process to win the business.

o Respond to RFQs and Proposal Requests in a timely manner.

o Leverage all available resources to provide excellent customer service and product/solution offering.

o Spend time with Service Techs at customer facilities to identify opportunities and better understand customer relationship.

o Manage a portfolio of accounts as well as identify new business opportunities within and assigned market.

Requirements

Qualifications:

o Preferred: bachelor's degree in sales or a closely related field with three (3) years of relevant sales and industry experience, or equivalent combined education and on-the-job experience.

o Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (necessary) and Sage 100 ERP (preferred).

o Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.

o Knowledge of the industry within a given market.

o Strong customer service orientation and/or sales background.

o Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.

o Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, etc.

o Valid driver license with proven safe driving record.

o Must be able to pass drug screening.

Physical Ability Requirements:

o Ability to visit and move around at customer facilities, construction, and other work sites, including the ability to maneuver in tight or small places.

o Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time including as a driver or passenger in an automobile.

o Ability to use a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for long periods of time.

o Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work related materials that frequently weigh up to 75 lbs. and may sometimes weigh 100lbs.
