Position Title: Medical Assistant
Reports to: Medical Coordinator
Description/Summary of the Position: Assists the Medical Coordinator to arrange or partner with other health professionals regarding health and safety standards for out-of-home placement, licensing requirements, disease reporting requirements for care providers, immunizations for children, injury prevention for children, medication management and knowledge of community health and mental health resources for children.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties: - Assist Medical Coordinator with team based medical care for the children placed at MarSell Riverside.
- Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate medical records, files, forms, statistics, and additional relevant information in accord with agency policy, licensing and/or funding requirements.
- Review ORR portal for compliance with medical information upload requirements and ensure updates are input as needed for safety and timely discharge.
- Complete calls with sponsors as assigned to provide medical information.
- Assist Medical Coordinator in planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all medical needs of the UC for designated social service program(s).
- Assist Medical Coordinator to provide medical resources for all employees and resource family homes.
- Adhere to Child Abuse and reporting requirements.
- Must be relied upon regarding task completion and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, work quality, or customer service satisfaction.
- Attend meetings and trainings when needed or requested.
- Participate in an after-hours Intake on call schedule.
- Participate in reunification travel of the UC.
- Perform other duties as requested by the assigned supervisor and or management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate degree preferred. MA, LVN license. Two to four years experience working with children and families.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES Preferred (Ideal Candidate)- Bilingual in Spanish is a must.
- 2+ years case aid experience in progressively challenging positions.
- 2+ years working experience with children and families preferred.
- Attainment of at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from program director, lead case manager, clients, stakeholders, etc.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram or schedule form.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in general office software including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
