We serve a geographic area that spans from Greenfield to Springfield, from rural to urban settings.

Description:

* UMass Amherst Upward Bound @ Commerce HS in Springfield AmeriCorps Member *

The Upward Bound program is a year-round, federally sponsored educational program serving high students from the High School of Commerce in Springifeld. Students are eligible to participate in this program if they are from families in which their parents do not have a bachelor's degree and/or if they quality as low-income. The goal of the Upward Bound program is to increase the rate at which particpants successfully complete high school and enroll in and graduate from college.

Come serve with the DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program (DSAP)!

DSAP is a 10-month (August 2024 - June 2025) full-time (40 hours/week) AmeriCorps leadership professional development program.

The DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program is a leadership program where AmeriCorps Members serve full-time to support positive youth development and strengthen community. They build relationships and make connections that lead to future education and employment opportunities.

* LEARN BY DOING *

Joining DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps is not like a typical job. It's a learning experience, a chance to try on new things, connect with peers, and grow in community. We often have members graduate at the end of the ten month saying that they learned more in the program than they did in a year of college. They made connections, contributions, and grew in ways that set them up for the next phase of their life.

Requirements:

AmeriCorps Members must be at least 18 years old, a US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident, and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
