Job description

omo a subsidiary of Hoag , is leading the recruiting efforts for a Neonatologist in partnership with Pediatrics & Neonatology Medical Group  of Orange County , which is an exclusive provider of Neonatology services at Dignity Health in southern California.  

The Neonatologist will be committed to providing care at two esteemed institutions - St. Mary Medical Center and California Hospital Medical Center. As recognized leaders in the field, both centers have garnered considerable acclaim for their commitment to excellence and innovation. Their recognition is underscored by multiple Healthgrades 5-star designations, attesting to their high-quality care, as well as the Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards, further affirming their exceptional proficiency in stroke treatment. 

Responsibilities:   

1. Diagnose, treat, and manage newborns with conditions ranging from prematurity, congenital malformations, and sepsis.  

2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive neonatal care.  

3. Provide high-quality inpatient neonatal consultations and follow-up care.   

4. Perform procedures such as intubation, lumbar puncture, and central line placement.   

5. Attend and actively participate in department meetings, conferences, and educational events.   

6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including medical records, progress notes, and billing information.   

7. Educate families on their newborn’s conditions, treatment options, and preventative measures.   

8. Act as a mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, students, and other healthcare professionals.   

9. Participate in clinical research and quality improvement projects to advance the field of neonatology.   

10. Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.   

Qualifications:   

1. Board Certified in Neonatology and Pediatrics.   

2. Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of California.   

3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a neonatology setting.   

4. Strong clinical clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills. 

5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.   

6. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Cerner is preferred  

7. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.

8. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.
