Job description
JOB SUMMARY
The Team Leader obtains optimum efficiency in all crew/dept activities of the manufacturing area while improving human safety, quality, human performance, food safety, the environment, training, and sanitation performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Monitor and coach employees on the importance of being personally responsible for their own safety behavior. Ensure that unsafe conditions are captured and corrected in a timely manner.
- Develop crew members by communicating EOs individual and crew training plans.
- Facilitate communication and consistency between shifts and teams. Conduct shift hand-offs with oncoming shifts.
- Responsible for monitoring verification and recording of accurate sanitation records including routine/non routine MSS and adherence to all food safety standards to ensure compliance. Provide coaching and feedback when errors occur.
- Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all sanitation, human, quality, and safety issues and work to implement solutions.
- Lead and assist all sanitation washes and ensure washes are ran within the correct designated operating perimeters.
- Partner with operations teams to drive efficiencies on washes and changeovers
- Assist in new hire orientation as needed and promote a positive training experience.
- Responsibility to adhere to food safety and quality policies, and report concerns to their supervisor . Correct any deviations.
- Perform other activities and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/GED strongly preferred
- One to three years related experience or training
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing equipment, work practices and processes.
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Good interpersonal and communication skills. Has ability to build rapport with every level in the facility.
- Experience with applying root cause problem solving tools.
- Demonstrated ability to learn
- Attention to detail by organizing time and resources efficiently
- A sense of ownership and pride in their performance and its impact on the company's success.
- Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines.

- Hazards associated with working in a food manufacturing facility. Wet, humid, hot, and noisy.
- Protective clothing or personal devices required: Rain suits, smocks, protective gloves, goggles, safety glasses, face shield, hearing protection, bump caps and/or hard hats and any other personal protective equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary to perform the job safely
