Job description

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a part time position is available for an experienced Senior Historic Architect. This position would lead project teams focused on delivering architecture, engineering and planning services for historic architecture projects for 4-6 hours per week.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff architects on historic architecture practices, materials, and construction techniques; working on interdisciplinary projects as the Senior Historic Architect; coordinating historic elements and practices with multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant team members; and working closely with clients, specialty subconsultants, and specialty contractors during design and/or construction. Assist with documentation and input on project pursuits; building and maintaining strong client relationships; developing and executing project workplans; developing and delivering presentations to clients, partners and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

The successful candidate must have the following:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in architecture from an accredited college or university
• At least 12 years of relevant experience of which two must be at the project architect level
• Licensed in the state office is located
• NCARB Certified

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• Experience performing detailed investigations of historic structures
• Experience preparing historic structures research reports
• Experience working with State Historic Preservation Offices
• Experience with state and local government projects
• Experience with aviation or federal government projects is a plus.
• LEED AP, WELL Accredited Professional, or Guiding Principles Compliance Professional
