Responsibilities:

University of Akron School of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Professor of Instruction. This is a full-time 9-month non-tenure track position. The majority of the responsibilities will be:

Teaching in the undergraduate nursing program including didactic and clinical courses as well as teaching in the clinical environment and simulation and skills lab. The focus of the position will be Medical-Surgical Nursing or Community Health Nursing. The individual in this position is not responsible for completing research.

Evaluating student performance.

Assist in managing clinical placements including expanding clinical sites.

Serve on school, college and university-wide committees as assigned.

Maintain a program of personal, professional growth through activities such as engaging in scholarly activity, university and community service and other pursuits commensurate with faculty rank and status.

Supporting University, College and School of Nursing goals to assure compliance with accreditation and/or licensure.

Compensation: The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The University of Akron offers a competitive total compensation package comprised of a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, and paid leave of absences including time off for illness, vacation, and maternity or paternity leave. In addition, eligible employees and their dependents are provided tuition remission.
