Location: Pueblo, CO or Chicago, IL or Portland, OR
Travel: 20-30%
Purpose: The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of a complex enterprise network for the client. The role will lead architecture design and identify tasks needed to maintain performance, availability, integrity, and security of the network.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage complex Cisco networks. (30%)
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco networking hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, etc) (20%)
- Develop and implement network security measures (firewalls, IDS, etc) (20%)
- Provide technical support to users and other network engineers (troubleshooting, training, and documentation) (10%)
- Collaboration with other engineers (10%)
- Stay up to date with Cisco technologies (5%)
- Other responsibilities as needed (5%)
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of Cisco networking hardware and software
- Routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, wireless access points
- 5+ years troubleshooting network problems
- TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching technologies
- CCNP (Enterprise, Security, & Data Center) Certification or equivalent
- Design and implement secure networks
- Firewalls, intrusion detection & prevention systems, Umbrella, Identity Services Engineer, Cloud Analytics, and Secure Client
- WAN Capacity Planning and optimization
Nice to Haves:
- Supporting a network environment that spans across a continent
- Architecture design experience
- Background in storage
- Experience collaborating with industrial or safety sensitive stakeholders
Education:
- Bachelor's in computer science or information technology or sufficient certifications
