Travel Involved: Must be able to travel FULL TIME (we are licensed in 45 states)

CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT Division: Commercial
Job Experience: Minimum 5 years (commercial construction)
Classification: Full Time
Position Description:
The Superintendent provides leadership on the jobsite, coordinates subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and foremen of a specific construction project. The Superintendent is responsible for the onsite management of a project, maintaining project schedule and managing the jobsite workforce to ensure an orderly flow of work, sequence of operation, and quality.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of commercial building construction experience required.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the general construction and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials.
- Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
- Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Ground-up retail construction experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uphold and represent all company values and ethics. Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the Company and client.
- Hold weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen / project managers to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower, schedule, sequence of work and inspections.
- Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Notify project management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact project cost and schedule.
- Provide daily reports on company provided software to include photos, manpower, activities performed, delays, JHAs, material deliveries and weather conditions.
- Provide weekly report and four-week look ahead schedule to project management team by end of the day on Thursdays.
- Maintain on site project files for work scopes, submittals, RFI’s, bulletins, drawings logs, sketches, inspections, permits and as-built drawings.
- Manage the Company Safety program as outlined in the Company Safety manual, and provide incident and accident reports as required. Ensure subcontractor compliance with all jobsite safety requirements and maintain a clean jobsite.
- Initiate RFI’s to project manager addressing issues with interpretation of plans and specifications, missing information, incorrect details, incomplete information, and other issues that require the direction of the Architect and Engineer.
- Responsible for coordination and scheduling of inspections with local officials having jurisdiction over the project.
- Responsible for quality control in monitoring the work and its adherence to the construction documents, and project requirements.
- Maintain a good cooperative relationship with project management team, subcontractors, vendors, architect, engineers, local officials and client.
- Perform material inventory / audit of all company, subcontractor and owner supplied materials.
- Work with project management team and appropriate subcontractors to coordinate, schedule and otherwise manage the various utility companies for any utility relocations, and/ or new service required for the project.
- Proactively identify and rectify potential punch list items. Once formal punch list is issued, it is the superintendent’s responsibility to hold subcontractors accountable for completion of punch list in a timely manner.
