For our 2024 programs, we are committed to providing mentorship and development. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ (WDAS) production internship program provides emerging talent with an immersive view of Animation through educational seminars on craft and filmmaking, and individual and collective projects.
If selected for this role, you will report to the SVP, Music.
WDAS Music Department produces all music for Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. You'll learn, adapt, and implement existing workflow for backup and archiving of digital music assets for current/ongoing and legacy productions at Disney and Pixar Animation. Other responsibilities include:
Digitizing of analog masters, transfers of digital tape masters and other formats to standard Pro Tools files.
Contributing to the management of archives of digital music assets for current/ongoing and legacy Disney/Pixar productions
Coordinating transfers of legacy audio formats to standard Pro Tools files
Documenting procedures to create workflow manual
Presenting periodic progress reports to supervisor
Assisting with archive project implementation
Supporting music staff with other department functions
Music background
Knowledge of legacy analog and digital audio recording formats
Desire to learn current and historical production methodologies
Mac OS – advanced
Unix OS – ability to navigate through terminal shells using basic commands
Pro Tools – proficient
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Previous internship and/or work experience in related industry
Passion for Music and Disney
Eager to learn and takes direction well
Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in (or recently graduated within the past six months) pursuing a bachelor's degree in Music or related field.
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
The approximate dates of this internship are May 2024 through August 2024
Must be fully available applicable for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Must provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
Must have reliable transportation to/from work
