Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY  

This job is responsible for performing diagnostic EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system for patients as ordered by a physician, and in accordance with established protocols, standards and practices. Work includes, but is not limited to: 1) patient preparation to include providing a safe testing environment for the patient, 2) performance of, observation and documentation of EEG results, and 3) monitors and checks equipment for possible changes/adjustments as necessary during the study.

Work is performed under the direct supervision of the licensed health care provider and requires thorough knowledge of the function and safe operation of equipment used to perform Electroencephalograph tests.

Incumbents are also accountable for maintaining their skills and knowledge related to job function by participating in conferences, technical meetings, and other educational activities and participating in departmental quality assurance programs within the scope of hospital-wide program.

Education/Work Experience Requirements

Two years of work experience in a medical field.  Graduation from an accredited neurophysiologic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and/or Registry in an Electroneurodiagnostics (END) discipline is preferred.
