Pax Wines is a small boutique winery focusing on the production of Syrah and esoteric grape varieties. We have a dynamic team in place at our tasting room/ wine bar location in the heart of The Barlow in Sebastopol. We are looking for a new leader to manage the team and guide us to the next level.

Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic human to fill the role of Tasting Room Manager and help us to grow our business. You must be wine loving, creative, hard-working, self-motivated, love sales, enjoy managing people and thrive in customer service. We have a fun environment where we spin records, support live music, host events and highlight local artists.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Daily operations of the Tasting Room (TR) and Hospitality Programs. Menu creation, food program execution, hospitality and reservation management, staff scheduling, oversee maintaining a clean work environment, implementing protocols and organization systems.

Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and review TR staff, including establishing policies, procedures and programs for customer service skills, product knowledge, wine education, sales training, and team building.

Identify and set strategies to implement creative programs to achieve tasting room profit, customer acquisition, wine club membership conversion and visitor data collection goals.

Analyze business data to identify areas for improvement, and follow up on information learned in reports, developing & executing plans to address opportunities for growth.

Maintain & continually develop overall tasting room experience, from atmosphere to customer interactions, ensuring that every visit is excellent and memorable.

Manage outreach program to grow and support our community relationships and drive traffic to the tasting room.

Work closely with Wine Club Manager to achieve goals for club sign-ups and train staff for upcoming wine club shipments and procedures.

Oversee wine, food and merchandise inventory management protocols to ensure reconciliation with POS, physical counts, par levels, and timely reorders.

Oversee on-site & off-site events programs, including cultivating relationships with existing as well as new vendors & partners.

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.

Required Skills:
Passionate about wine, hospitality and sales
One of more years’ experience in a winery, restaurant and/or retail wine
One or more years’ management or supervisory experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)

Desired Qualifications:
Prior wine knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of systems Commerce7, Google Docs, Canva
Outgoing and enjoy people
Flexibility and openness to changing priorities
Responsible beverage certifications
