Job description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Ophthalmology Technician at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA.

 

Details:

 

• Full Time, Monday-Friday 
• No nights, holidays or weekends

 

Requirements:

 

• Two years of experience in a Refractive Surgery Center after graduation on a major laser surgery platform (i.e. Visex. EX 500. VisuMax). Must have knowledge of ocular anatomy; ophthalmic medications; visual physiology, optics; use and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and testing equipment; ophthalmic and medical regulations;
• Possess and maintain current certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT

 

Prepares patients for all types of ophthalmic surgery.
• Administers ophthalmic drops and ointments, applies ocular dressings, performs suture removal, and obtains eye cultures.
• Performs general ophthalmic procedures in preparing preoperative and postoperative patients.
• Prepares injectable ophthalmic anesthetics and antibiotics.
• Assist surgeons in performing surgical and laser procedures in the clinic and operating room as required.
• Assist provider in the examination and treatment of ophthalmology patients. This assistance includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Examine records and forms and prepare patients for current exam and treatment
