General Statement of Duties Closing Date: This position closes on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Serves as the FOIA Coordinator for the Police Division; plans, organizes and conducts professional management work for use in planning and carrying out Police Division FOIA-related programs and requests; does related work as required.
Essential Duties The primary responsibility of this position is tracking, researching and responding to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for the Police Division. These requests are often complex and almost always require coordination among several potential contributors to ensure full compliance with the law and may include but not limited to body worn camera video requests, traffic crash investigative file requests and criminal investigative case file requests.
Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act laws, policies and regulations; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines; ability to research using a variety of resources; strong communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills; ability to work effectively with other employees and with the public; leadership skills.
Minimum Qualifications Possession of a bachelor's degree with courses in statistics, report preparation, research and/or planning; OR, a bachelor's degree relevant to the program or service area to which assigned; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Additional Information Expected hiring salary range is $57,646.23 - $63,313.40. A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.
