What You Will Do
Are you someone with a strong conceptual ability, an open mind, being current with the social zeitgeist, and a passion to learn? As a Social Media Marketing Strategy Intern with Disney’s Consumer Products Marketing Team, you will build innovative and conceptual social media ideas to support Disney’s consumer products business. You will participate in ideation sessions with the marketing teams. You will have the opportunity to show your creative thinking skills and social media savvy while working across a range of social platforms. You will get the chance to show off your creative skills, assembling content for our socials firsthand!
If selected for this role, you will report to the Manager, Social Media Marketing Strategy.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with marketing strategies and go-to-market plan development to deliver our business goals
Ideate content concepts for Disney products on social platforms and analyze performance
Assist in evaluating campaign creative and track approvals/status updates with agencies
Work with teams to deliver assets, campaign pitch kits, toolkits and content following brand guidelines and maintaining updates
Build community for social platform handles, engaging with content and connecting with followers and provide generational knowledge into Gen Z trends and way of thinking
Be an active participant and work with team to develop social media plans/calendars
Assist in developing materials for creative/strategic presentations and coordinate project management/ad hoc requests from leadership
Required Qualifications & Skills
Actively engaged on a wide array of social media platforms with knowledge of content formats, functionality, and the latest trends
Marketing skills to develop strategic feedback, business rationale, and marketing communication plans
Experience in tactical strategy design and project management
Ability to improve social content formats creatively
Partnership and relationship skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite/Keynote and presentation delivery
Experience with graphics and video editing
Creatively minded with the ability to inspire creative teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with TikTok as a user and creator
Experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop & Illustrator
Previous experience social marketing entertainment brands or experiences
Experience crafting strategic roadmaps and coordinated communication plans
Previous work experience in marketing strategy, consumer packaged goods, advertising agency and/or brand management
Education
Undergraduate students in their junior or senior year in (or recently graduated within the past six months) pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or other related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within the past six (6) months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Ability to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 - January 2025
Ability to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship with possible evenings and weekends if necessary
Must provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
Must have reliable transportation to/from work
