Manager Retail Training

The Manager, Retail Training will provide training targeted at field associates and assess the training needs of the team through surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives. The successful candidate will present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures. The Manager, Retail Training will also evaluate training materials prepared by specialists such as outlines, text, and handouts. This role requires a considerable amount of travel.

Position Summary
The Retail Training Manager is responsible for training and development directly supporting a client. The Retail Training Manager will provide training targeted at field associates and assess the training needs of the team through surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation or consultation with managers, instructors or customer representatives. The successful candidate will present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures. The Retail Training Manager will also evaluate training materials prepared by specialists such as outlines, text, and handouts. This role requires a considerable amount of travel.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Direct Reports
- Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

 

Indirect Reports
- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements
- Travel is an essential duty and function of this job. Driving is not an essential duty or function of this job.
- Travel up to 35%

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

 

Education Level:
(Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
(Preferred) Master's Degree or equivalent experience

 

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Human Resource Management/Development, Organizational Development, Instructional Technology or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 3+ years of Program/Project Management experience required
- 5+ years of Learning/HR experience preferred with working knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design for e-Learning, instructor-led training and blended learning
- Coaching experience preferred
- Client interaction experience, either internal or external, preferred
- Experience dealing with leaders preferred

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
