Job description

Aerotek is currently looking for Heavy Equipment Mechanics with at least 8 years of experience to work on the Naval Weapons Station in Charleston, SC.

Mechanics will be performing OTR maintenance or field level maintenance If you have experience with working on large construction equipment, large army equipment or large diesel equipment and are interested in a great opportunity with the DoD please apply here.

Mech 3 : $33/hr

Mech 4: $37/hr

Description:

• The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will rebuild, and maintain power equipment such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools.
• They will also operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle, and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• They will examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges and replace place defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Weld broken parts and structural members as needed.
