Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Editorial Content (Communications, Marketing, and Public Affairs), the Senior Writer & Marketing-Communications Manager will be a skillful and experienced storyteller with a proven ability to produce content that engages an array of audiences and builds brand awareness, reputation, and pride in UT Southwestern. This job will perform versatile writing and content creation between in-depth articles about clinical advances and scientific achievements and web copy for external audiences, executive communications, and messaging to patients, media, and referring providers.

Exceptional writing and editing skills required.

This position falls under a hybrid work schedule that includes 2 days per week on campus. 

Required Experience and Education

Required Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field and at least five (5) years of experience writing, preferably in health care, higher education, or an academic medicine setting.

Exceptional writing and editing skills required.

Preferred

Master’s degree in related field and strong editing and project management skills preferred.

Experience with medical and science writing is a plus.
