Job description
The Pet Care Coordinator will work closely with the Pet Care Manager and Holiday Barn leadership to oversee our pet boarding, daycare, and training facility in Glen Allen to achieve the objectives, goals, and betterment of our company. The Pet Care and Boarding Supervisor/Coordinator is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and encouraging leader that assists our staff, customers, and pet visitors to achieve the highest level of satisfaction.
Holiday Barn Pet Resorts has 50 years of experience in pet care enrichment with two locations in Richmond, Virginia - Glen Allen and Midlothian.
A Pet Care and Boarding Supervisor/Coordinator for Holiday Barn Pet Resorts is responsible for:
- Accountability for pet welfare.
- Assist with hiring, training, and supervising staff to maximize our level of service to guests, ensuring all Holiday Barn pet care SOPs are properly executed.
- Interest in a hands-on position that requires assisting kennel staff, pet grooming, customer care, and activities staff as needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate potential pet care issues and opportunities to the facility manager.
- Assist Pet Care Manager and/or Facility Manager with developing and/or implementing ideas to improve boarding operations.
- Coordinate staff needs among other teams as business trends require, such as grooming or camp.
- Provide support to other teams, such as grooming, customer care and activities or camp, as needed in absence of their supervisor.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to staff regarding work performance and deliver realistic expectations and appraisal of work performance.
- Act as a "Pack" leader and communicate effectively with the staff.
- Handle customer concerns and opportunities in a professional manner.
- Understand all facility operations to keep the facility running efficiently and safely for our pets, customers, and employees.
SOME OF OUR JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Two years of supervisory experience. Experience supervising a large staff is a plus!
- Two years of work experience as a vet assistant in the animal care field (or related experience).
- Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding position.
- Availability to work all major holidays and work a rotating schedule that includes weekends.
- A 35-40 hour work week with possible overtime.
