For 40 years, Aero Simulation Inc. (ASI) has provided quality flight training devices to the US Military. ASI has successfully built numerous training systems with a primary focus on aircrew and maintenance training systems. Our current programs include, but are not limited to, the B-1 Training Systems (Air Force), E-2D Training Systems (Navy), CH-53E Training Devices (USMC), and IMOMS (Coast Guard). POSITION SUMMARY

The Mechanical Buyer participates in all functions related to the procurement of mechanical parts. Obtains necessary purchases at lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery date. Recommends improvements in overall purchasing program which will advance the interests of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Due to contractual requirements must be a United States Citizen


Preferred Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support and/or perform other activities relative to Procurement functions, not limited to, Procurement Compliance Reviews, Supplier Vetting, Program Reviews, and Internal Procurement Auditing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE

ENTRY- 0 to 3 Years

MID- 3-7Years

SENIOR - 7+ Years





REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Five (5) Years experience working with mechanical drawings and associated parts list.

2. Have a thorough understanding of FAR / DAR regulations.

3. Have a working knowledge of the Contractors Procurement Systems Review (CPSR) process conducted by the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)

4. Experience working with shipping companies for coordinating large shipments of goods throughout the continental United States.

5. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook at the intermediate or expert level.

6. Thorough understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Epicor experience preferred.

7. Ability to handle multiple vendors/priorities with minimal supervision under strict deadlines.

8. Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills.

9. Willingness to learn with a strong motivation to succeed and grow.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Experience successfully negotiating prices with suppliers and vendors.

2. Military, Aerospace or Defense industry experience.

3. Experience in the flight simulation industry.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.). On a case-by-case basis, experience may substitute for education.
