Job description


- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual fund donors to AFA; recommend
and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies of individual prospects, working
with administration, faculty, and volunteers as appropriate; meet with prospects and
volunteers, traveling as necessary.
- Assist with the implementation and review of a data-driven solid solicitation system,
including evaluating results, tracking mail and email appeals, and data-mining; assess
marketing segmentation to improve results and monitor metrics of giving participation,
average gift size, donor retention, acquisition, and upgrades, and return on investments;
assist with the development and interpretation of annual giving reports.
- Serve as project manager on various communication efforts through all channels.
- Work with the internal and external partners to create dynamic messages that will
connect with alumni, parents, and friends of Farragut.
- Assist with developing a strategy to increase faculty/staff and parent/family giving
- Assist with developing, implementing, and evaluating social media strategies to connect
with alumni and potential donors to enhance engagement and philanthropy; manage and
maintain the social media ambassadors programs.
- Assist with drafting and editing annual giving communications as needed for all
channels.

- Visits and contacts prospects to develop and grow prospect engagement and giving.
- Participate in and staff department events such as Graduation, Homecoming, Day of
Giving, and other events as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Advancement Office, providing
assistance and input as needed and communicating frequently to ensure events and
activities do not conflict.
- Research and stay up-to-date on trends in advancement in education, annual giving, and
philanthropy; suggest new initiatives and/or improvements to improve the AFA Annual
Giving outcomes.
- Work with the department leader to develop a comprehensive Annual Fund
strategy and support the development of collateral materials. Strategy to include call,
text, social media, email, physical mail and event solicitation platforms.
- Work with the department leader to outline annual and incremental quantitative
fundraising goals and align activity to meet or exceed these goals.
- Commit to a reasonable number of donor contacts to pursue Annual Fund and major gift goals.
- Represent the Admiral Farragut Academy at events in the community and provide staff
leadership at events sponsored by the school. Coordinate with the department leaders and
the to develop stories and share the event and newsworthy information with alumni.
- Manages the alumni portfolio for alumni cultivation and solicitation.
- Input outreach, meeting synopses, proposals into customer relationship management
database.
- Occasional travel is required.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends on occasion is required.
- Maintains a collaborative work environment and works well with others.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
Bachelor's degree required. Prefer 3-5 years’ experience in a non- profit organization(s)
or in a closely related field such as marketing or communications. Additional special
skills and characteristics include the following:

- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Canva,
InDesign. Knowledge of the Blackbaud Raisers Edge fundraising database is a plus.
