Job description

Researches, markets, renews and binds personal lines companies for new and renewing clients in the automobile, boat, umbrella and homeowner categories. Effectively manages a book of business containing selected accounts encompassing a high level of expertise and service to the clients. Serves as a backup to peer PL CSR during vacation, absences, etc. Supervises and coordinates activities engaged in compiling data on changes to insurance policies in force, changing provisions of policies to conform to insured's specifications, and communication of premium rates to clients based on changes to policies.

Responsibilities

New/Existing Clients: Contacts and qualifies prospective clients and explains features and merits of policies offered, recommending amount and type of coverage based on analysis of prospect's circumstances; Calculates and quotes premium rates for recommended policies; calls on policyholders to deliver and explain policy, to suggest additions or changes in insurance programs, or to make changes; regularly reviews renewals and expiring policies for any changes that need to be made such as adding/deleting covered individuals on accounts, answers questions and researches to solve any coverage issues.

 

Account Service: Receive all correspondence from clients and carriers for policy changes, preparing and issuing binders, proof/evidence of insurance, invoicing, run MVR's, underwriting information, updating Sagitta and ImageRight systems with detail routinely. Prepare proposals, comparisons and/or coverage summary itemizations for submission to client after quality assurance review. Assist Producers and personally assists in the resolution of more complex requests in order to assure client that all tasks are handled at a managerial level. Have capabilities to establish/maintain a good business relationship with all clients and company personnel. At the discretion of the Producer, may be called upon to interact face to face with clients or company personnel. Make the Producer aware of any negative situations. Keep a record of all expiration dates within the book of business and coordinate with the Producer the "plan of action". Bring to the attention of the Producer any major changes to the account during the year.

 

Marketing: Assist Producer in obtaining renewal information from the client and/or carriers. Assists in the preparation of submissions and applications. Prepares proposals, presentations and any necessary quote comparisons. Review applications for completeness and accuracy in preparation for submission to carriers. 

Billing: Assists clients with their monthly bills; follows up with insurance carriers to correct billing mistakes.

 

Customer Service: Answers phone calls and emails from clients and responds to requests timely; explains new policy information to clients; provides necessary documents when an insured files a claim or policy change occurs; prepares new policy documents; and anticipates future needs and calls on established clients to renew and upgrade accounts.
