The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Education and Training seeks a Procedures Development Specialist II. This position will coordinate with professional staff in analyzing, developing, interpreting, and recommending technical policies and procedures as they relate to the operation and activities of the Health Training and Consultation Branch.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists in coordinating the work of clerical and technical staff to ensure all work is performed in accordance with appropriate standards, policies, and procedures. Serves as liaison between technical staff and management. Evaluates and provides detailed analytical summaries of program activities to facilitate the administration of policies and procedures.
- Creates and maintains staff activity tracking system, evaluates the generated data to identify procedural problems, and recommends corrective action. Reviews and maintains statistical reports as needed.
- Researches federal program requirements. Solicits input from staff to provide technical advice in developing or revising policies, procedures, and reporting structures.
- Assists in evaluating program priorities, options available, and fiscal impact on technical operations and client services. Conducts studies to determine the impact of policies and procedures on the health program.
- Assists in writing instructional materials (including the internal operational procedures manual), developing forms and provides technical assistance to staff regarding the implementation of specific policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tracks progress toward Strategic Goals and Objectives and recommends short and long-term policy changes to ensure completion of those goals and objectives.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in public or business administration, political science, statistics, policy analysis, economics, or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
