Job description
As a Process Engineering Manager, you will direct, lead and manage the Thin Film engineering and technician team. The Thin Film area includes many clean room tools, such as evaporator, sputter, PECVD nitride, RTP, ion implantation and metrology tools to measure particles, stress, film thickness, sheet resistance, etc. In this role, the goal is to improve FDC and SPC control for tighter control of equipment and process parameters. You will drive improvement in wafer cost, tool capacity, particles, abort recovery, AOI defects, number of held lots and disposition of held lots in timely manner. In addition, you will select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Sustain and improve Thin Film processes.
Oversee improvement of FDC and SPC control.
Review of metrology, AOI and electrical test results.
Reduction of held lots and timely disposition of held lots.
Develop detailed project plans and timelines.
Define and set deliverables.
Make sound decisions when allocating resources.
Coordinate work with other managers.
Coach, challenge, develop, and motivate the Thin Films Team.
Ensure validity of methods used by staff and review work for technical accuracy.
Communicate with others appropriately to exchange information, including giving and receiving directions.
BS with 12 years’ experience; MS with 8 years’ experience or PhD with 5 years’ experience.
Experience in a Fab environment.
Be able to work in fast paced production environment.
Experience as an engineering manager with direct report responsibility.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with other teams.
Advanced analytical skills to work with others to analyze thin films issues and technical situations leading to optimal solutions.
Team player with strong listening skills that can take inputs and make informed decisions quickly.
Experience in managing change by leading, energizing, and influencing others through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $124,400 - $235,700per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
