Job description
We are seeking a Gelatin Technician to join our team!
The Gelatin Technician I is responsible for following the batch record instructions which includes: mixing and blending of raw materials, checking the quality (i.e. odor, color, and texture), and verifying when completed.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the acquisition of raw materials into the staging area.
- Checks for expiration dates, color, textures, and smell to ensure that the liquid, powder and raw materials are acceptable.
- Weighs the needed raw materials requested on the batch records.
- Blends gelatin based on the batch record instructions.
- Ensures cleanliness of gelatin equipment and gelatin room to required standards by using small hand tools to disassemble equipment and cleaning as necessary; and thoroughly cleaning the walls, floors and all other fixtures in the blending room using standard cleaning tools and cleansing agents.
- Pours the pre-mixed color into the gel blender into the gelatin, if color was requested.
- Operates the equipment without issues to include detecting equipment that is operating abnormally. (Understands the equipment options/parameters and provide feedback if error occurs)
- Provides all QC and/or QA samples.
- Follows/adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s),
- Standard Safety Practices, and all company policies/procedures at all times.
- Completes other projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of work experience
- Basic math such as add, subtracts, multiply, divides and combines units of measure.
- Communication Skills (Oral/Written) - able to speak clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective department operations.
- Detail Oriented - pays close attention to detail, accuracy and completeness, double checking their work.
- Honesty/Integrity - follow through with company values and provide exceptional quality products.
- Safety Minded – follows/demonstrates awareness of all safety policies/procedures of self and others.
- Teamwork/Cooperation - ability to work well with others in a group and cooperate with others.
